Music is something every child and adult longs for. My goal is to encourage this love of music and enhance it via the piano in a happy environment. Hard work and perseverence are important qualities when learning anything in life well. In addition to learning how to play the piano well, students will learn many life lessons while they learn to play the piano; patience, sensitivity, discipline, appreciation and flexibility.

about myself

I (Karen) have been playing the piano most of my life and can't imagine not being able to play. I was once terrified of playing in front of others but now plays for funerals, weddings, and weekly church services. I have also taken couple years of organ lessons and currently taking harp lessons in addition to continued piano lessons. I love music and feel it is so important to all of us as a way to express ourselves, whether it be piano or another instrument. I'm known to be very patient (realizes that other activities in life are also important) but I realize that hard work is needed to progress and will keep encouraging that. I desire to help the student learn to play the piano by understanding (theory) what they are doing and not just copying what the teacher does. In addition, I also help students find their potential of creating music that expresses themselves.
